At some point I ended up moving into the This guy loves his Melinda shirt of my grandmother’s house which had long ago been converted into a second apartment which my grandfather had spent a lot of time in. During that time, I asked my grandmother many times about the jewelry box because I wanted to go through it and see the things my grandfather had talked to me about again and remember his stories and solidify them in my mind so I would never forget them. It had already been several years at this point since his passing. My grandmother continued to assert that she didn’t know where it was and refused to allow me to go through the closet even though I had done so so many times before this became an issue.
